The much-awaited gaming festival in Seattle, PAX West 2016, will be held next month, and the former head writer and creative director of the "Uncharted" series is set to deliver the opening keynote address.
"Amy [Hennig]'s revolutionary work on the Uncharted series played an immeasurable role in shaping the modern gaming landscape," Attack of the Fanboy quoted co-founder of Penny Arcade Jerry Holkins as saying. "We're thrilled PAX West attendees will have the chance to listen to one of gaming's leading visionaries."
Apart from the "Uncharted" games, Hennig also worked on other projects for companies like Electronic Arts, Crystal Dynamics, and Naughty Dog. Among the titles that she handled or helped make were "Michael Jordan: Chaos in the Windy City," "Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver" and the "Jak and Daxter" series. Currently, she is the senior creative director at Visceral Games and, according to PlayStation Lifestyle, is working on an untitled "Star Wars" game.
The upcoming PAX, previously called Penny Arcade Expo, might not have a lot of major announcements; however, it is said that big names like Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony are expected to reveal their latest hardware much later than the festival. Still, there may be some surprises in store for gaming fans as there are a lot of developers that are expected to take part in the event.
PAX West 2016 will take place in Seattle, Washington from Sept. 2 to 5, and attendees can expect a lot of game-inspired activities. The event's website says that badges are now sold out, but they can send an email for questions on general registration.
PAX East took place in Boston last April but there are still events coming up. PAX Dev is scheduled to happen from Aug. 31 to Sept. 1 in Seattle, Washington; PAX Aus will be held in Melbourne, Australia from Nov. 4 to 6; and PAX South will take place in San Antonio, Texas from Jan. 27 to 29, 2017.
