Last week, rumors of a new game based on the hit series "Mr. Robot" were teased by publisher Telltale Games were circulating around Facebook and Twitter with hacker-ish messages. Today at Gamescom, rumors were confirmed to be true as Telltale and "Oxenfree" developer Night School Studios released a game based on the series called "Mr.Robot: 1.51exfiltrati0n", available for download in mobile devices.

According to Geek, it's available for the iOS and Android, where you can get involved with the show's hacker group fsociety on a personal level. "MR.ROBOT:1.51exfiltrati0n" (copying the actual titling style of the show's episodes) allows players to use the E Corp Messaging App, a chat client where players can actually communicate with fsociety members via text messaging to receive instructions to hack Evil Corp.

The game plays out in real time and takes around 5-7 days to complete. Players can get to communicate over E Corp Messaging App with a cast of characters, including a familiar cast from the show such as Darlene, Cisco, or Elliot, to receive tasks in helping fsociety successfully. "1.51exfiltrati0n" allows players to actually receive messages day and night, simulating actual continuing text conversations.

The game reportedly takes place after the sixth episode "eps1.5_br4ve-trave1er.asf" from the first season. The game is actually presents the player as someone who happened to pick up a phone belonging to fsociety.

IGN stated that "Oxenfree" developer Night School Studios collaborated with the show's writer Kor Adana and creator Sam Esmail in conceptualizing the story. Similar to "Oxenfree" or even Telltale's franchises, players are faced with several dialogue choices in interacting with the fsociety members.

Night School's Sean Krankel and Adam Hines went to certain lengths to capture actual texting habits to make the in-game conversations more organic such as the length of how a real person types out and sends a message.

In other news, Telltale Games just released the first episode of "Batman: The Telltale Series" entitled "Realm of Shadows" earlier this August, already generally receiving positive reviews.

"Mr. Robot: 1.51exfiltrati0n" is available on stores for $2.99 on iOS and Google Play.
