“Harry Potter" actor Rupert Grint will star "Snatch," an upcoming TV series based on Guy Ritchie's 2000 cult film of the same name. Grint is best known for playing the red-headed Ron Weasley in the "Harry Potter" film series.

In "Snatch," Grint will play the role of a "frustratingly chaotic" con-man named Charlie Cavendish who wants to take advantage of a wayward truck full of heisted gold bullion. The series will have ten episodes on its maiden season, BBC reported.

Grint will be joined by some well-known tv actors including Ed Westwick ("Gossip Girl") and Dougray Scott ("Fear the Walking Dead"). Westwick is cast as recurring guest star Sonny Castillo while Scott is slated as a regular who plays Vic Hill, a con-man inside prison, Deadline reported.

Alex De Rakoff will serve as the series showrunner, head writer and executive producer. Unlike the original version, the television incarnation of the film announced that it will create a new world with new characters but promised that it will carry out the spirit of the film from which the series in based on.

"Snatch" is a crime-drama film that starred Brad Pitt, Benecio del Toro and Brad Pitt and Jason Statham. The film gained notorious following when it was released in theaters in 2000. The story is two-fold: one involves a search for a stolen diamond while the other involves a small-time boxing promoter. These plots intertwine in the London criminal circuit.

Production for the show will begin next week and is slated to make its debut in 2017.
