Lee Hi to celebrate birthday on Manila concert

Korean pop sensation, Lee Hi, is set to say "Hi, Manila!" on Sept. 23 for her 2016 Lee Hi Seoulite Showcase tour.

The YG artist announced through her official Facebook account that the concert will be held at the SM North EDSA Skydome. Ticket sales will start on Aug. 27. The production will be under PULP Live World, the same people who brought Bigbang, 2ne1 and Epik High's music to the Philippine concert stage, Pulp reported.

The songstress already completed her tour in Shanghai, China, Taipei and Taiwan during the last week of July up to the first week of August. She is expected to meet thousands of K-pop fans on her Manila and Hong Kong tour, Yahoo! Lifestyle reported.

Lee Hi debuted as the runner of of the first season of K-pop star at the age of 16. She was supposed to join a girl group after the show but YG Entertainment decided to keep her as a solo artist when her first album "First Love" became a local and international success, ranking number three on the Billboard World Album chart.

After three years of break, the 19 year old singer released a half album "Seoulite" which was released last March 9 followed by a full version which hit the stores last April 20. Her comeback was ironed by YG's sublabel, HIGHGRND which is currently managed by Tablo of Epik High.

Her first single from the sophomore album, "Breathe" topped the Korean charts. The song was composed by SHINee's Jonghyun.

Apart from her musical stint, Lee Hi also has a live program at Naver V Live weekly where she connects with fans. Filipino fans are expected to prepare surprises for the "My Star" hitmaker as she will celebrate her 20th birthday in Manila.
