The long wait is almost over as "Law & Order: SVU" is scheduled to return on Sept. 21 for the premiere episode of Season 18 titled "Terrorized." Prior to its comeback, NBC has released the official synopsis of the premiere episode which gives us a hint that Lt. Olivia Benson and her team are facing a dangerous case.
The official synopsis released by NBC a few days ago revealed how a search operation unraveled a more dangerous case of terrorism. It stated, "A young boy is found wandering alone in Central Park and the search for his parents leads to startling evidence of a planned mass casualty event in the city," as reported by CarterMatt.
While Lt. Benson and the SVU work with the joint-terrorism task force to run after the suspects of the planned terrorism in New York City, she is also to convince Assistant District Attorney Barba (Raúl Esparza) to take into consideration the allegations of rape and torture revealed by the boy's mother after she was found.
Meanwhile, a prominent character from the past seasons of "Law & Order: SVU" is reported to make a comeback for the upcoming Season 18. Although this has not been confirmed, reports suggest Christopher Meloni's character will return for the new installment of the police procedural series.
According to Latin Post, Detective Elliot Stabler will be back in "Law & Order: SVU" Season 18 to revive his relationship with Lt. Benson; however, Lt. Benson is currently in a relationship with Captain Ed Tucker. Will Stabler's comeback cause tension between the two? All this and more in "Law & Order: SVU" Season 18 which starts on Sept. 21 at 9:00 pm.
