Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Flying Wild Hog announced the release for the upcoming sequel for 2013's "Shadow Warrior." The hack-and-slash shooter game is set for a PC release this coming October.

"Shadow Warrior 2" is set five years after the 2013 reboot. Players will once again don the ninja garb of Lo Wang and shoot and slash their way through hordes of demons with his katana and other variety of weapons.

Gamespot states that the sequel was announced back in 2015. The previous title was well-received in its reviews earning a score of 7 out of 10. The game was commended for its humor and action-packed gameplay, so it's no doubt that sequel will have more in store for players .

This time, "Shadow Warrior 2" will offer more non-linear exploration and a chance to revisit accomplished missions. Players can utilize this to upgrade Lo Wang's skills. The game will also feature a procedural damage system where players showcase different methods of executing their enemies such as dismemberment by blade or blowing them up with firearms.

VG 24/7 features a gameplay via IGN, where the protagonist gets to use a chainsaw and a few more katana skills. During combat, it was also shown that players can also dodge attacks, which is considered a new feature.

The game features over a variety of 70 weapons, ranged and melee weapons alike. Utilizing these weapons can level them up and offer players power-ups in the form of gems to amplify the weapons' properties and buffs.

"Shadow Warrior 2" will hit digital shelves for the PC in Steam, GOG, and Humble on Oct. 13. Those who get to pre-order the game will get a 10 percent discount price and an exclusive Razorback chainsaw katana. Players will also earn an additional 10 percent discount from developer Flying Wild Hog if they owned the previous "Shadow Warrior" game and "Hard Reset Redux."
