Aamir Khan confirms he and Amitabh Bachchan will work together for the first time ever in 'Thugs of Hindostan'

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan on Wednesday confirmed that he will share screen space with megastar Amitabh Bachchan for the first time ever in "Thugs of Hindostan."

The "PK" actor took on his twitter handle to confirm the news. "Finally, the moment I've been waiting for has come... to work with my icon, Mr. Bachchan! Thanks Adi, Victor, for 'Thugs of Hindostan'," he wrote. "Thugs of Hindostan" is based on Philip Meadows' "Confessions of a Thug" novel,  Asian Age newspaper reported.

Khan has also confirmed that he will start working on the movie from early next year. Yash Raj Films (YRF) produced "Thugs of Hindostan" is slated to release on the occasion fo Diwali festival in 2018.

"I'm too thrilled to be working with the actor I have admired all of my life. Shoot starts early next year, and the release has been locked for Diwali 2018. Can't wait to get started! Fingers crossed," Khan said. Veteran actor Jackie Shroff also bagged an important role in the movie.

Khan is currently busy with his next film "Dangal,"  Indian Express newspaper reported. Based on real life story of wrestler Mahavir Phogat, the biopic is slated to release in December this year. Bachchan, on the other hand, will be seen next in "Pink" directed by "Piku" fame Shoojit Sircar.

Media reports also suggested that Vaani Kapoor has been finalised to play female lead in the Vijay Krishna Acharya directed film opposite Aamir Khan. Kapoor, who earlier worked in YRF's 2013 blockbuster "Shudh Desi Romance," will be next seen in another YRF movie "Befikre" opposite Ranveer Singh.
