Taiwanese hardware and electronics manufacturer Acer continues to tease the tech community with its upcoming Desire 10 flagship smartphone. Rumors claim that Acer is gearing up to launch the Desire 10 smartphone on Sept. 10. Previous leaks indicated that two Desire branded phones will be launched and will most probably be billed as mid-range devices.
Although Acer has yet to officially confirm the two models of its Desire brand, there are rumors claiming that these two devices are named Desire 10 Pro and Desire 10 Lifestyle. As part of its marketing strategy and probably to build hype over its upcoming devices, Acer launched a new campaign with a tagline "Be Edgier."
In a teaser video released by Acer, it gave a quick peek at what looks like the camera design of the upcoming Desire 10 series. There is almost a slight hint of a possible rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. There is also an intriguing mention of "150" on the teaser, something which many speculate could be the speed of how quick the fingerprint scanner can authenticate users.
Based on previous leaks, the Acer Desire 10 Lifestyle is expected to have a 5.5-inch display with 720p resolution. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset. Two variants of the Desire depending on the memory and storage space configuration are expected to hit the market. According to GSM Arena, one model has 2GB of memory and 16GB of storage space, while the other one has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space. Both variants are expected to have a 13-megapixel rear facing camera and a 5-megapixel front facing selfie shooter.
Not much is known about the Desire Pro, although previous leaks pointed to a possible 5.1-inch display with Quad HD resolution. Word around the tech community is that the Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, according to Android Authority.
