South Korean model and actor Lee Jong Suk extends his gratitude to thousands of supporters of the TV drama series “W” in a live broadcast on Sept. 12.

“Filming for “W” finished yesterday. Thank you for giving a lot of love to ‘W’ during this hot summer,” Soompi quoted Lee as saying.

Aside from expressing his appreciation to the fans, the actor also shared some of his thoughts as the drama series ends. His portrayal on “W" is one of the most challenging roles he ever had so far.

“This show was harder than other dramas, but it was also a worthwhile work that was new for me personally. I think this drama will be the starting point for things to change a lot,” said Lee.

Meanwhile, Lee was asked in an interview by Chorokbaem Media on how he wanted the show to end on Sept. 13. In response, the 24-year-old answered that he preferred sad endings.

“Personally, I prefer sad endings. I think it'll be good to have a smooth, sad ending. A smooth context and an appropriate farewell will be a heartache, but understandable,” Lee said as quoted by All Kpop.

He added: “It will also make the drama linger in your mind longer."

“W”, also known as “W- Two Worlds”, unfolds the love story of the cardiothoracic surgeon Oh Yeon Joo portrayed by actress Han Hyo Joo and the webtoon fictional character Kang Cheol played by Lee. It premiered in MBC on July 20 and will be having its final episode today.
