Jeffrey Dean Morgan is back to play Negan in "The Walking Dead" in Season 7. He admited that he portray Negan differently than the comic book. However, fans love his interpretation and the way Negan is depicted in the series.
Morgan is deemed as the right actor to play the psychopathic leader of the Saviors. He is known to have a good interpretation of comic book character, like when he played character The Comedian in "Watchmen." He interpreted Negan character a little bit different from the comic, but fans love his interpretation, especially he will reprise his role as Negan in "The Walking Dead" Season 7.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Morgan said that he made a new physical presence for Negan character in the series. He admitted that he has never met any character like Negan before as he explored the leader of the Survivors.
"This is unlike anything I've ever done as far as a character. I mean, Negan is just an original," he said
Negan made the first appearance in season. He is is the leader of Saviors, a vigilante group who extorts other groups in the Sanctuary. Negan and the Saviors demand every group to give half of their resources in return for their protection from the walkers. In "The Walking Dead" Season 7, Negan and the Saviors is back hunting Rick and his group as reported by ComicBook.com.
The season 6 finale ended with cliffhanger as Eugene and the group were captured by the Saviors as they tried to reach the Hilltop. Negan then selected someone from the group and sent a chilling message to Rick by beating that person to death with a club. The identity of the dead person is still unknown.
