"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" star Gabrielle Luna who plays Robbie Reyes discussed Ghost Rider as the gateway to the mystical side of the MCU.
The actor said that he is excited about being the one to "break the ice" in tackling mysticism in the Marvel Cinematic universe before "Doctor Strange" comes out. He went to tease about other elements within the MCU such as ghouls and goblins, Collider reported.
"We're starting to tow the line and inch towards some ground that hasn't been covered... What we haven't touched on are things that can't be explained perfectly by science. It's a lot of really fun stuff that starts to lean into the world of Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider and Mephisto, and all of these other elements that also exist there, like ghouls and goblins and all sorts of cool things. We're happy to be the ones to break the ice on that."
In an interview, Luna talked about bringing a new version of Ghost Rider to life and the opportunities that it brings. He also went to say that what made him take the role was his character's orphan background, Screen Rant reported.
"He had some hardships early in his life, and the Ghost Rider actually becomes an empowering thing... His control over it is something that slightly differs from the previous characters and previous vessels of the Ghost Rider spirit," he said.
He went to point out that what makes the Ghost Rider version of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" different from other incarnations of the character in Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch. Luna said that compared to the other two, Reyes had a rough start.
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" returns for Season 4 on Sept. 20, 2016.
