"The Originals" Season 4 is confirmed to have a time jump after Davina (Danielle Campbell) died in Season 3. The series will also reportedly feature a more grown-up Hope (to be played by Summer Fontana). Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) contemplates leaving his family.
In the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con, co-executive producer Michael Narducci confirmed that there will be a five-year time jump. This confirms that Hope will be 7 years old in "The Originals" Season 4, TV Line reported.
"She was two years old when we left her ... and she's now a little person. She's got dialogue and hopes and dreams, and she misses her dad and understands her family has suffered a great loss. ... Hayley's a great mom," he said.
In a short video, Hope is seen asking Hayley, her mother, if they are going to save her dad. Phoebe Tonkin who plays the character said that Hayley will go on a journey to locate the seven werewolf packs to save everyone.
As for Kol, his relationship with his siblings will continue to suffer except for Rebekah. The two will bond and will try to find out what life is supposed to be outside their family, Entertainment Weekly reported.
In Season 3, after the Ancestors free Kol from his neutralized state, he loses control of himself and kills Divina. He blames his siblings Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Freya (Riley Voelkel) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) for the incident.
Speaking about Davina's death, co-executive producer Julie Palec said that her death is necessary to continue a certain storyline. She went to say that the story started to feel a "redundancy of heroes" and that there was a need to make a show fresh.
