There was that spine-tingling moment in the first "Outlast" game when players snuck around holding their night-vision camera, hiding from horribly disfigured psychos. Now, the press release has revealed that the "Outlast 2" demo will be available for not only the PC, but also for the PS4 and Xbox One.
The first "Outlast" game was truly memorable, taking cues and stealth mechanics from games such as "Amnesia" and "Penumbra." It was the game's visuals that truly added to the horrifying ambience, with dark corners to mangled corpses. One memorable moment was players were being chased down the corridor from a big, muscular inmate bent tearing them apart. With the sequel, there'll be just more of that - and even worse.
According to Attack of the Fanboy, "Outlast 2" was supposed to be released later this year, but was pushed for a 2017 release. However, it may even be possible that the game's schedule might be shifting as the demo recently appeared on European and Australian PlayStation Stores on a sudden notice. Until the developers will comment on this, players will just have to wait and see when this will go live on the North American PlayStation Store - and also on other platforms.
It was also revealed earlier in an article from Game Rant that developer Red Barrels decided to delay the survival horror's sequel because they want to focus delivering the "the best, most terrifying, most fulfilling experiences possible."
"That's why we're taking just a little bit more time to make sure our vision for 'Outlast 2' is in no way compromised and is the experience you deserve," added the developer.
"Outlast 2" is currently slated for release sometime around the first quarter of 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
