EXO member Lay can affirm he's got the sweetest fans after they put up billboard ads for him in Times Square, New York. The kind gesture was done by Lay's fans to celebrate his birthday on Oct. 7.
According to Allkpop, a total of 11 LED billboards displayed Lay's image to greet the EXO member on his birthday and to cheer him for his upcoming solo album titled "WHAT U NEED."
Lay's solo album will be released on the same day of his birthday at 12:00 pm KST, as per Soompi. Further reports revealed his title track will be dropped through several Korean music charts and through a Chinese music group called Ali Music.
Aside from that, the official music video of "WHAT U NEED" will be released simultaneously on the same day. The newest single was co-written by Lay himself. The EXO member also contributed in the composition of his newest track.
Lay, who is also known as Yixing, was discovered after his participation in a talent show called "Star Academy." After that, the 24-year-old idol debuted with EXO in 2012. Aside from that, Lay is also a member of EXO's sub-unit, EXO-M.
Just this year, Lay released a solo track called "Monodrama" for SM Nation's project. The EXO member personally wrote the single and was arranged by Divine Channel. In September, Lay confirmed he will be releasing a solo track on his birthday that is dedicated to his fans.
Aside from singing, Lay is also known for his acting prowess. Currently, the EXO member is winning the hearts of his Chinese viewers for his role on "Old Nine Gates" or "The Mystic Nine."
