Salman Khan has filed a $15 million defamation suit against an Indian TV channel for a sting operation.
A private news channel recently conducted a sting operation related to Khan's acquittal in two eighteen year's old poaching cases, Deccan Chronicle newspaper reported. The 50-year-old actor said in his filing before Bombay High Court in August that the sting operation was "malicious" and "defamatory."
In July, the "Sultan" actor was acquitted of all charges in both long pending poaching cases. He also requests court to impose an immediate ban on the release of the sting operation.
The "Sultan" actor was accused of killing two endangered Indian Gazelle (Indian name is Chinkara) and a Blackbuck in western Indian state of Rajasthan in 1998. In 2006, a trial court found him guilty in both cases and sentenced him to five years and one year imprisonments; however, Rajasthan High Court overturned trial court's verdict and acquitted him of all charges, Hindustan Times newspaper reported. Last year, the Bombay High Court acquitted Khan in 2002 drunken driving hit and run incident that left a homeless person dead.
Khan, who was last seen in blockbuster "Sultan" movie opposite Anushka Sharma, is currently busy shooting for his next "Tubelight" opposite Chinese actress Zhu Zhu. The "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" actor will soon start shooting for sequel of 2012 blockbuster "Ek Tha Tiger" - "Tiger Zinda Hai" - opposite his former girlfriend Katrina Kaif. The tenth season on Khan's popular celebrity reality show "Bigg Boss" is going to hit TV screens on October 16.
