Indian actress Radhika Apte does not think it is right to put a ban on Pakistani actors in India.
The 31-year-old "Parched" actress has said she is against the ban on Pakistani artists and technicians from working in India. "Pakistani actors should be allowed to come here and do films in India. I don't think they should be banned," Apte said during a launch event in Mumbai, Indian Express reported.
The Indian Motion Pictures' Artists Association (IMPPA) recently imposed a temporary ban on Pakistani actors from working in India in wake of Uri terror attack. Apte has also said she feels sad for the Uri attack. "All I feel is whatever is happening is disastrous and sad. We can only sympathize. There are no words in which I can express my solidarity."
Last month, a terror attack on an Indian army base camp in Uri, Kashmir left at least 18 soldiers dead and several others injured. New Delhi accused Pakistan of being behind the attack. Islamabad, however, rejected Indian accusations. The IMPPA ban on Pakistani artists in India has evoked a mixed reaction from the Bollywood film industry. Superstar Salman Khan and filmmaker Karan Johar opposed the ban while veteran actors like Nana Patekar supported the move, UNI India reported.
The "Kabali" actress has been in the news after her sex scenes from "Parched" movie leaked online. Apte's bare breast leaked video went viral on social media platforms. Last month, the Leena Yadav-directed social drama "Parched" released in India with an 'A' certificate. The movie also stars Adil Hussain, Lehar Khan, Sayani Gupta, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Surveen Chawla in key roles.
