Apple reported a 38 percent surge in third quarter earnings with a profit of $10.7 billion compared to $7.74 billion one year ago. The quarterly earnings were boosted by strong demand for the latest iPhones.

Apple could not hide the defect in its iPhone 6 plus anymore, as three more law firms join to file a class action lawsuit for flaw in its touchscreen which become unresponsive due to some engineering flaw.

Three lawfirms join the lawsuit against Apple for its 'touch disease' that cause its touchscreen to become unresponsive and fail. According to report by MacRumors, the issue first appeared in August, when some owners of iPhone 6 reported their phone touchscreen suddenly become either unresponsive or less responsive to touch. Prior to become unresponsive, a gray flickering bar appeared at the top of the screen.

Many suspected the flaw was originated from defect in the manufacturing process. Following the report in August, three of the iPhone 6 owners files an official complaints to the U.S. District Court of Northern California. In the complaint, they stated that their devices presented symptoms of problem with the touch screen, which Apple has not acknowledged publicly.

Afterward, similar lawsuit also filed in Utah on Sept. 20. According to Motherboard, an attorney who work in the case Richard McCune said there are about 10,000 people who asked to joing the suit that accuses Apple for consumers act violations. The violations include state's consumer fraud statutes, negligent misrepresentation, breach of implied warranty and unjust enrichment

The flaw in iPhone 6 touchscreen is caused by two "touch IC" controller chips coming loose from the phone's logic board. This issue is related to its larger form factor, because The 4.7" screen iPhone 6 has an unreinforced logic board. Since the touchscreen is soldered to iPhone's logic board, it can flex or bend even under normal use because Apple failed to incorporate a metal shield in the iPhone 6.

Apple refused to repair the troubled out-of-warranty iPhones but offer the replacement from the refurbished iPhone 6. However, the replacement device costs $329, and after days or weeks the same symptoms will occur.
