BTS fans, also known as ARMYs, are infuriating the EXO-Ls by allegedly making fun of Lay after losing his consciousness at the airport before EXO's flight to Japan for a solo concert.
According to Soompi, Lay passed out at Incheon International Airport on Tuesday before he could even board in the plane. The EXO member was immediately rushed to the hospital and reports suggest Lay remained unconscious the entire time he was being transported.
On the same day, SM Entertainment released a statement stating that Lay passed out due to lack of sleep. The label added the EXO member was advised by his doctors to get some rest to recover.
SM Entertainment also said they will make the final decision whether to let Lay join his EXO co-members in their two-day concert in Japan or not. "He has a strong intent on joining the concert, so we plan to make the final decision after checking his condition," the label said.
While EXO-Ls are worried about Lay's condition, some netizens who claimed to be ARMYs took advantage of the incident and laughed at EXO. A report of Allkpop stated that an EXO-L posted several screenshots of inappropriate comments she found under an article about Lay's recent incident.
Some of the comments include, "This is a funny article. BTS is the best" and "Thank God, this didn't happen to BTS." While other comments accused EXO's Lay of pretending to be sick, "Don't pretend to be sick, Lay. Rap Monster performed with a fever. You're not a true singer."
On the other hand, some ARMYs shoot down these inappropriate comments about Lay. A BTS fan wrote, "I'm an ARMY but I would never dream about saying something like this. I hate fans like this. They give all ARMYs a bad name and it makes me sad."
