Syfy's upcoming show "Krypton" continues to be a thing that's coming to life. The show, supposedly a prequel to Superman's story, has been adding more actors to the cast to expand the Kryptonian world even more.

According to Deadline, Ian McElhinney, who played Barristan Selmy on the HBO hit show "Game of Thrones," will be joining the upcoming Syfy show.  Along with McElhinney is a whole line of actors that include Elliot Cowan ("Da Vinci's Demons"), Ann Ogbomo ("World War Z"), Rasmus Hardiker ("Your Highness"), Wallis Day ("The Royals") and Aaron Pierre ("Tennison").

The "Game of Thrones" actor will take the role of Val-El, the grandfather of Seg-El. Val-El is considered another genius of his family but a rogue one at that who tried to warn the Elites of the planet Krypton of the imminent and ancient threat.

On the other hand, actor Elliot Cowan will be Kandor's Chief Magistrate named Daron Vex. His character protects the well-being and ideals of the Kryptonian oligarchy against non-conformists, so may be a possible conflict here between McElhinney's and Cowan's characters. In relation to Daron Vex, actress Wallis Day will be his daughter as Nyssa Vex, who's also a junior magistrate.

"World War Z's" Ann Ogbomo will take the role of Primus Alura Zod, Lyta Zod's mother and leader of the military faction of Krypton, whereas Dev-Em, one of the cadets of Alura, will be played by actor Aaron Pierre. "Your Highness" actor Rasmus Hardiker will be Seg-El's best friend and reckless engineer named Kem.

In earlier news, "After Hours and Murdered by My Boyfriend" actress Georgina Campbell will take the role of Lyta Zod, while while newcomer Cameron Cuffe will be cast as Superman's grandfather, Seg-El, who's also the star of the upcoming series. According to Hollywood Reporter, the actor actually fit the early the casting call for the show, being ""athletic, quietly confident and in his 20s."
