"Baywatch" star Zac Efron is developing the true-life Wall Street story of John LeFevre into a film "Straight to Hell." He is producing and possibly starring in it.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Efron is diving into the wild world of Wall Street in "Straight to Hell." He is producing the film with Paramount Pictures. However, Efron also is eyeing the project as a possible starring vehicle for himself.
The deal for "Straight to Hell" is still in early development. The film is loosely based on LeFevre's book "Straight to Hell: True Tales of Deviance, Debauchery, and Billion-Dollar Deals," Variety reported.
The "Straight to Hell" book was published in July 2015 via Atlantic Monthly Press. It offers the readers an unapologetic, dark yet humorous account of LeFevre's life as a high-profile, globe-conquering, win-at-all-costs investment banker.
LeFevre's now-infamous @GSElevator Twitter feed provided an inside look at the real world of international finance, based on conversations in the elevator of the multinational bank company Goldman Sachs. After hundreds of thousands followed the account, the banking firm launched an investigation to identify the person behind it all.
Efron was recently seen in Universal's "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising" and Fox's "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates." He will next be seen and producing in "Baywatch" with Dwayne Johnson. He will also be appearing in James Franco's "The Masterpiece" bowing in the next year.
Efron will also start filming next year on Fox's "The Greatest Showman" together with Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams. He is represented by CAA, Alchemy Entertainment, and Felker Toczek.
Writer John M. Phillips wrote the Efron starred "Dirty Grandpa" and will pen the script for "Straight to Hell." Efron will produce via his Ninjas Runnin' Wild banner together with Doug Banker at Five All in the Fifth Entertainment.
