It's finally here! Chanyeol's collaborative work with Far East Movement, Tinashe and DJ Marshmello is finally out and EXO-Ls are pleased.
On Thursday, the official music video of "Freal Luv" was uploaded on YouTube under Transparent Agency channel. According to Soompi, the MV was shot in Seoul and Shanghai.
Far East Movement's "Freal Luv" began with Tinashe singing the introduction and chorus with her powerful voice. On the other hand, Chanyeol and Far East Movement showcased their rap prowess in the middle of the song.
Reports suggest the EXO member contributed in the writing process and composition of "Freal Luv." According to Billboard, the song is under Far East Movement's newest album titled "Identity."
"Identity has always been an issue with us, from how we perceive ourselves as Americans to how people actually see us, and how Asia sees us as foreigners while people in the U.S. might think Asia is home to us," Far East Movement said.
The band said people used to tell them to change their band name to something else, saying that Far East Movement is "too Asian." Some even asked them to establish their own identity by wearing glasses and the like.
"It was a different time, but that type of stuff stays with you and affects your perspective. We decided to disconnect, work on building our production and writing skills, spend time traveling around Asia learning the music scene, the business culture and proper customs," the band went on.
Far East Movement added that by traveling, their identity as a band became clearer to them and gave them inspiration for their newest album "Identity."
The international band continued, ""Identity" is a Far East Movement, in a sense, bridging artists from the east with artists from the west while fusing different genres we love."
Meanwhile, EXO-Ls are elated for Chanyeol's newest collaboration with the American hip hop-EDM group. Some of them even joked that majority of the comments under the "Freal Luv" MV were coming from EXO-Ls.
