Fans of Hulu's hit show "The Mindy Project" need not lose heart as the show is expected to return soon with the second half of the season.

Although the network is yet to announce the official date, it is highly anticipated that the show will return on Jan. 26, International Business Times reported. "The Mindy Project" season 4 episode 13 ended with a cliffhanger, wherein Mindy was shown struggling in her tumultuous relationship with Danny, who is constantly persuading her to leave work and focus more on family life and expanding their brood.

The last episode showed Mindy (Mindy Kaling) returning back to her old apartment and taking some measurements before putting a "For Sell" board and coming back to her home to snuggle lovingly with Danny (Chris Messina). It seems that the ferocious gynaecologist has surrendered to the demands of her husband, fans of the show can expect just the opposite.

Mindy has been known as the strong-minded woman from the start of the show. It is highly expected that she will bounce back and will refuse to leave her work, which in turn she has established with great effort with Jody.

While the start of the season 4 showed Mindy giving birth to little Leo Castellano, following which Danny has been more overbearing than usual, the second half of the season is likely to show her embark on a path of single motherhood.

Mindy was anyways shown struggling with two jobs, one of which is a fertility clinic that she runs and taking care of her baby while Danny was away taking care of his sick father.

Meanwhile, Kaling is seemingly super-excited about the future of her show despite the minor setback it suffered when Fox cancelled it in May after an apparently successful run of three seasons.

"I think people might be surprised by this answer, and maybe this is my personality, but I knew that it wasn't going to be done," the 36-year-old American actress of Indian origin told Paste Magazine.

After its cancellation from Fox, "The Mindy Project" was picked up by Hulu for 26 episodes, a larger order than Fox had ever given to the show.
