"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" star Ben Affleck reveals the working title "The Batman" for his upcoming standalone Batman film. He is set to direct and star in addition to co-writing the screenplay.
According to Variety, Affleck said in a recent interview that his standalone Batman film is going to be called "The Batman." However, the DC Comic's latest Caped Crusader said that he might change the title because it is all he got for now.
Affleck is now working on the screenplay of "The Batman." He said that it is going well so far. He is thrilled about it and assured that he will keep the fans posted as soon as there is any development in the film.
Affleck also shared his thoughts about his recent film "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" directed by Zack Snyder wherein he starred in along with "Man of Steel" actor Henry Cavill. He called the film the biggest hit of his career during an interview with Washington's WTTG-TV as he pushes aside the unfavorable reviews from critics.
"Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" grossed with over $330 million at the domestic box office. It has the highest domestic gross of all the films Affleck has appeared in such as Michael Bay's science fiction disaster thriller film "Armageddon" with $201 million and historical romantic war film "Pearl Harbor" with $198 million. Its closest competition is David Ayer's superhero film "Suicide Squad" with $321 million that Affleck made a cameo.
Affleck was reported to cast "Spider-Man" actor Joe Manganiello as the villain Deathstroke in "The Batman." Deathstroke was rumored to appear as the Dark Knight in Warner Bros.' superhero team-up "Justice League" on Nov. 10, 2017. The said film just wrapped shooting in London and is moving to a remote locale for additional shooting, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
There is no exact date yet set for the production of "The Batman.". However, there are speculations to start next year.
