The upcoming beefed up version of the "Xbox One" is making a big progress according to "Xbox" boss Phil Spencer.
Spencer was asked by a fan if it would be possible to release the "Xbox Scorpio" on an earlier date. To his he replied that they are optimistic about the project's schedule and said that the project is making an "amazing progress," Game Rant reported.
In an interview, Spencer gave an update about the current status of the project. He confirmed that the development of the console is actually ahead of schedule, Game Spot reported.
"Really well. Actually, with the hardware timelines right now we're a little ahead of plan. We'll see, there is a lot of time to go, but we feel good about how the things are coming together," he said.
Likewise, he was also asked if he is worried that Sony will roll out the "PS4 Pro" a year before "Xbox Scorpio" will come out. Spencer was unfazed and said that the release of "PS4 Pro" does not affect their plans at all. He explained that they are creating something different and expressed that the team is taking their time to do something he considers a "bigger step in terms of performance."
The upcoming "Xbox Scorpio" is touted to be four times more powerful than the original "Xbox One." The console promises 4K gaming experience and high-fidelity VR with impressive arsenal of hardware to boot. Set to be released sometime in 2016, the device is expected to be powered by an 8-core CPU underneath with an impressive 320 GB per second memory bandwidth.
