It was an episode entirely dedicated to an American tradition, the Halloween, to which Louis and the kids are very much into. Jessica, on the other hand, felt Halloween as an inferior holiday compared to Christmas and refused to take part.
For his costume, Louis donned a tennis costume as Pete Vampras, a.k.a. Pete Sampras's bloodsucking cousin from Transylvania. After Jessica insulted Halloween as the sissy version of Christmas, Louis made it his mission to scare Jessica once and for all.
On the other hand, the dynamic duo of Emery and Evan got some problems. They were arguing to what costume they have to do as a pair per tradition which Evan insisted that he be allowed to choose as he has always been the sidekick.
"I fear we may have peaked too soon," Evan said.
It was true actually. Last year’s “Silence of Lambs” costume was one of THE best Halloween couture I have seen on television in recent years. But it was difficult for the siblings to find something which would top, if not surpass last year’s costume.
Eddie and his friends, on the other hand, are in that weird stage of life between childhood and adulthood that they were torn between their eagerness to do trick-or-treating and the temptation of a high-school party. They chose the latter and decided to attend Nicole’s party.
Eddie and his friends showed up at Nicole's house, where they were greeted by four sour-looking Spice Girls, a pack of Sailor Boy Tom Collins mixers, and some Bali Shag all sitting together in an empty house. It turned out that a certain Easy Erica, a 10th grader, was also throwing an even better party, so the Spice Girls departed for the fun of it.
In an attempt to saving Nicole’s party, Eddie suggested to play loud music. But instead of the a great party coming their way, the police claim to check a complaint from the neighbors.
In the Huang’s, Louis has tried his best to scare Jessica with some obvious antics. The family matriarch, devoid of all fear and emotions, just reacted like she’s bored and it was nothing. She then recived a phone call from the police station which she dismissed as a prank call from Louis in a lame attempt to scare her. But it turned out to be from the actual police station.
Back at the house, Louis was down and sad because Jessica does not love Halloween as much as he does and he wanted her to participate. Halloween is his Christmas and her refusal to participate hurts. This moved Jessica who then decided to take her family trick-or-treating the next day.
