"American Horror Story "actor Dennis O'Hare, has booked a guest starring role on This Is Us.
As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, O'Hare has been tapped to play a friend of William (Ron Cephas Jones) named Jessie on "This Is Us." Set to debut later this season, O'Hare will appear in multi-episodes throughout the show's freshman run. No word yet if he will be interacting with William's biological son, Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and his family.
As revealed in the show's earlier episodes, William is the biological father of Randall. He is currently battling Stage IV of stomach cancer and is now living under Randall's care since the premiere. Growing fans of "This Is Us" immediately fell in love with the reconnected father and son dynamic, but fears for the day that William will succumb to his illness.
"This Is Us" is one of this year's breakout TV series. Created and executive produced by Dan Fogelman, the series follows the lives of Kate, Kevin and Randall - three siblings who have been linked by fate and destiny since the day of their birth. As they now navigate their adult lives, viewers begin to learn deeper layers of their characters as depicted in the scenes from their childhood days; as well as their parents' early stages into marriage.
Its upcoming episode titled "Career Days," will delve into the trio's lives during the early 90s, Fogelman recently revealed to the entertainment site.
"We start introducing in the back half of our season a lot more of a later time period, in 1993, when the kids are a little bit older," the executive producer previewed.
"And it's a part of the marriage where now that the kids are old enough to almost babysit themselves for lack of a better word, and be self-functional aside from needing rides and parenting."
"This Is Us" also stars Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz and Justin Hartley. Its freshman season airs every Tuesday at 9PM on NBC.
