The latest chapter of "Tokyo Ghoul:re" sets up the arc that focuses on the upcoming conflict of Furuta and Kaneki. But before the actual war, Furuta and Kaneki are already showing signs of setting up of a bloody conflict that pits Kaneki's ghouls with everyone else.
"Tokyo Ghoul:re" Chapter 100 Recap
"Tokyo Ghoul:re" is already on its 100th chapter and it can be read online through Manga Stream. Although the chapter doesn't feature any type of physical encounter with ghouls and the CCG, it does represent a very important decision that would set-up the future of the ghouls, CCG and every other organization involved. The current chapter focuses on the CCG's decision in choosing the new leader: Furuta or Matsuri.
The organization leaders are torn between the two proposed leaders. Matsuri's case in becoming the head of CCG is through succession: he is the eldest Washuu and commander of Division II.
On the other hand, Furuta's case is very simple: the dying wish of Tsuneyoshi Washuu is to give his position to Furuta. Furuta arrives late at the meeting but also adamant that the group adheres to the dying wish of the recently deceased Washuu.
The chapter ends with a big set-up for the future: Furuta walking out of the building and Kaneki greeting him. The self-proclaimed Washuu King meeting with One Eyed King. Although the meeting is casual, it will set-up a big battle in the future.
Upcoming "Tokyo Ghoul:re" Chapter Spoilers and Predictions
The comments on Reddit on the latest chapter mostly focus on the possible scenario for Mitsuri, Kaneki and Furuta. They will be the biggest characters in the upcoming chapters as Mitsuri would try to grab some power while Furuta continues his quest to consolidate additional control of the CCG. It's still unknown if Furuta knows about Kaneki's fate after the Cochlea raid but we'll know very soon.
Furuta has a big chance in grabbing the power of CCG and the organization's decision could set-up an internal conflict especially when Mitsuri is getting in touch with his trusted investigators. Furuta's challenge is now focused on Mitsuri but he'll eventually have to face Kaneki's proposition if he becomes the head of CCG.
