Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo-Wurtzbach recently visited the Yahoo Beauty office.
While there, the Filipino national talked about the controversial moment where Miss Universe 2015 host Steve Harvey announced the wrong winner.
"Just making it into the top two was already such a big deal for me. I was thinking, during rehearsals, 'I wonder what it's like to be there, when you're the last two standing, and it's just between the two of you,'" she said.
Meanwhile, Wurtzbach revealed that she was initially fine with being the first runner-up to Ms. Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez. After all, her fellow Filipinos who were present at the venue were still very happy with her success.
"That's all I wanted anyway. The actual result was out of my control," she said.
Following her win, Wurtzbach flew to New York City to transfer to her new apartment. Despite her recent success, the former model and celebrity in the Philippines revealed that she spent the holidays by herself. After all, Wurtzbach's immediate family is in England.
"It was quiet. It's not a bad way to spend the holidays, especially considering the uproar about Steve Harvey's misreading on both Colombian and Filipino social media. In both the Philippines and Colombia, the Miss Universe pageant is not just a one-night spectacle - it's a matter of distinguishing themselves on a world stage," she explained.
In other news, Wurtzbach also talked about her plans post her Miss Universe reign.
According to her, she wants to be in Hollywood and follow in the footsteps of her favorite actress Meryl Streep.
Talking about the friends she made during the competition, Wurtzbach revealed that she remains close with Miss Malaysia, Miss Myanmar and Miss China.
"I wouldn't say that there are alliances at the pageant, but I understand if you can't speak the language, you would want to hang out with someone who understands you. I mean, sometimes there are language barriers, and that's okay. We talk to each other in sign langue," she shared.
Wurtzbach recently sat down for an interview with Harvey where she told the host to not worry too much about his mistake from a few weeks back.
