Sunday's episode of "Westworld" titled "Trace Decay," has unlocked another theory about the park's oldest host, Dolores.
Dolores was first introduced to "Westworld" viewers as the damsel in distress, who is living a simple life with his father. Until one day, her storyline changed when the Man in Black popped up attempting to kill her. We have seen Dolores engaging in different visions, as though taking place in various timelines.
But it was only after Westworld's most recent outing that this new theory evolved and is now making buzz. The theory, raised by a Reddit user, posits that: It's likely that Dolores and Teddy's arch nemesis Wyatt are the same person. This is evidenced by the flashback sequence of Dolores on "Trace Decay," where she massacred several hosts (which may even include Arnold).
Teddy's Wyatt flashback mirrors Dolores' almost perfectly. We know that when hosts "relive" violent memories, they act them out (like when Maeve slashes Clemantine 2.0's throat remembering MiB), establishing that Dolores really did shoot a bunch of hosts and then put her gun to her head, as she does this in the present.
According to /FILM, the reason that this Dolores-is-Wyatt theory makes sense is because when Ford created this backstory for Teddy, he mentioned that Wyatt's storyline is rested in truth.
And Teddy's memory, having been updated and altered in various occasions, may be experiencing a form of glitch. As a result, Teddy might just be remembering Wyatt executing the massacre instead of Dolores because of the current narrative that he's into.
This is just another theory that lingers on every "Westworld" fan's mind. The scifi series has two more episodes to air until the finale, which means even more theories will emerge.
An all new episode of "Westworld" titled "The Well-Tampered Clavier" airs this Sunday (Nov. 27) on HBO.
