Known for her role as Emily Fields in "Pretty Little Liars," Shay Mitchell is set to star in "Mother's Day." The actress, who is of Filipino, Spanish, Scottish and Irish descent, will star with Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson and Jennifer Aniston in the upcoming comedy film.
Written by Tom Hines, Lily Hollander, Anya Kochoff and Matthew Walker, "Mother's Day" features intersecting stories of different mothers on Mother's Day, which is celebrated inmany parts of the world on various days.
Directed by Garry Marshall, "Mother's Day" is set to be released in the United States and New Zealand in April, in Argentina, the Netherlands, Sweden and France in May and in the United Kingdom in June. Joining Mitchell, Roberts, Hudson and Aniston in the cast are Britt Robertson, Timothy Olyphant, Jason Sudeikis, Sarah Chalke, Christine Lakin, Margo Martindale and Jack Whitehall, among others.
Aside from "Mother's Day," Mitchell is also set to star in "Dreamland" opposite Frankie Shaw and Jason Schwartzman. Robert Schwartzman is directing the film, which he co-wrote with Benjamin Font.
There are still no details about the release date of "Dreamland," which also stars Talia Shire, Amy Landecker, Noel Wells, Beverly D'Angelo, Alan Ruck, Johnny Simmons, Brittany Furlan, Nick Thune, Parisa Fakhri and Sara Coates, among others.
Currently, Mitchell is playing Emily Fields in "Pretty Little Liars" Season 6. The Filipino, Spanish, Scottish and Irish actress was recently at Toshi's Penthouse in the Flatiron Hotel in New York City, where talked about the killing of Charlotte, also known as A, in the TV series.
"I have a couple of ideas that I've tossed around," Mitchell told E! News after saying that the cast did not know who the culprit is. She refused to share her predictions but she revealed that the culprit will be revealed by the end of "Pretty Little Liars" Season 6.
Meanwhile, Mitchell has been tapped as the newest spokesperson of the skincare brand Biore. The "Pretty Little Liars" told People that Bioré has always been a part of her skincare routine and she is "a huge fan" of the charcoal pore strips.
Mitchell also told the publication that Bioré's face masks play a role in her bonding on the set with her "Pretty Little Liars" co-stars.
