Former MBLAQ member Thunder has finally made his debut as a solo artist with the release of "Sign" MV under his self-titled album on Tuesday.
After being on a hiatus for a couple of years, Thunder admitted he was frightened to go back on stage for his return as a solo artist. But before this day came, the idol doubted whether he will have the chance to produce his own album and make his solo debut.
"It was a time where the future looked bleak, and I didn't even know if I could release an album. There were also times when I felt like giving up, so it was very difficult. But those feelings were dissipated in the lyrics of "Magic Spell,"" Thunder said as per Soompi.
The former MBLAQ continued, "Because it was so long before I came back, the stage is a little scary now. It was still enjoyable the day before yesterday, but last night before I fell asleep, I felt afraid. But as I performed on stage, I felt better. I gave it my all."
He also revealed he wanted to show his other side for his comeback; hence, his new music is a showcase of a different Thunder. However, the idol admitted he was worried of how the people would react to his sexy image.
"I wanted to show a cool performance, but my face isn't the sexy type, so I was worried. But things like gestures, clothes, hair and makeup can help with that, so I thought to myself that I should practice and just go for it," Thunder said.
Thunder's new single "Sign" is an upbeat song that features Sara. In the official music video of the track, Thunder tried to win the heart of a woman who seemed unimpressed of the idol's efforts.
After releasing his own music, Thunder has been receiving support from his friends including IU who even promoted his album in an Instagram post, Allkpop cited. IU congratulates Thunder for his new music and asked her followers to get a copy of the new music.
"Thunder's solo album is out! Since it's an album prepared seriously over a long period of time, I hope a lot of people listen to it!" IU wrote.
