On the Dec. 15 broadcast of "Kim Chang Ryul's Old School," former MBLAQ member Thunder talked about his singing career and revealed the name of the person who inspired him to become an artist.
According to Allkpop, Thunder admitted Dara, in some way, has influenced him to pursue a singing career. However, he cleared out his decision of becoming a singer cannot be associated solely to the 2NE1 member's influence.
"My dream of becoming a singer had nothing to do with my sister. Although I'm sure there was some influence. I dreamed of becoming a singer when I watched Rain," Thunder said during the interview.
Thunder added he was not expecting things would work out for him after joining MBLAQ, yet, the idol considered his experience with the group as memorable and a "happy time" in his life.
On the other hand, Thunder said his sister Dara has been supportive of his solo career. The former MBLAQ member revealed she often treats him like a baby because of their age gap.
"I'm her youngest sibling. There's a six-year age difference between us. That's why she still looks at me like I'm a baby and acts like a mother to me," Thunder shared.
Thunder and Dara currently live together as per Soompi. Despite being in the same industry, Thunder said they do not talk about work at home since they consider it as a place to rest.
"I live with my sister Sandara Park now. She's a strong older sister to me, and we both trust in each other enough to not worry about the other person," he added.
The idol also talked about the struggles during the preparation for his solo comeback, adding that he spent almost all of his time at the workstation or to practice for his return. On Dec. 7, Thunder officially made his comeback after two years with the release of a self-titled mini album.
