"Doctor Strange" writer John Spaihts said that "Doctor Strange 2" could finally introduce Clea to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In an interview, Spaihts discussed his involvement in the film and said that he is interested in writing the sequel He went to say that he has some ideas for a new supporting character which includes Dormammu's niece, Clea, Comic Book Resources reported.

"That's a tricky relationship to bring out of a comic book and on to a movie screen. But she's a really compelling character as a foil, a love interest, a colleague of Doctor Strange's, and she always carries with her that width of mystery as to whether she is human, and how human, and what that means for his relationship to her. So we might find a way to introduce her to the story, he said.

In the comic books, Clea is the ruler of the Dark Dimension which was subsequently conquered by Dormammu. She has a long history with Doctor Strange as his disciple and both a villain and his lover.

Speaking of villains, Spaihts mentioned that he is open to exploring a zombie-apocalypse Shuma-Gorath elder god scenario. However, he also noted that they will have to integrate Mordo (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor) into the fold. In the movie, Mordo decided to defect from the Masters of the Mystic arts and will presumably back into the fold as Strange's archnemesis.

"[Nightmare is] one of the big ones, yes, absolutely! There's sort of a zombie apocalypse Shuma-Gorath elder god scenario. There's a kind of unreliable reality Nightmare movie that could be made. There's a few great things, and of course Mordo is out there, as embodied by the extraordinary Chiwetel [Ejiofor]. He can come back and bring a world of hurt at any time."

Elsewhere, director Scott Derrickson said that he wants to have Strange battle Mordo who he wants to be one of the great Marvel villains. The self-confessed comic book fan said that the first film is just the tip of the iceberg for the character, Den of Geek reported.

Do note that a sequel to "Doctor Strange" has not been announced but given its success in the box office, a sequel is probably in the pipeline.
