"Bad Moms" will be back. The follow-up story to the original film starring Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn has been reported to explore a Christmas-themed plot, set to be released in the winter of 2017.
The hit comedy film, which hails from the writers of "The Hangover" franchise, grossed a total of $180 million in the box office with an estimated $20 million budget. According to Deadline, original cast members Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn will reprise their roles as overly stressed moms on the new project. No word yet if Christina Applegate, who plays the terrorizing head of the PTA, is on board.
"This is a brand that has enormous goodwill all over the world, so expanding and extending the BAD MOMS franchise in an authentic and irreverent way has been a priority for our team. Jon and Scott have a truly hysterical story that was pure perfection," Adam Fogelson, Chairman of the STX Entertainment Motion Picture Group said in a statement.
"Mila, Kristen and Kathryn are excited to re-team, and we will move forward with A BAD MOMS CHRISTMAS on a similar time table and in much the same way in which we produced the original."
Bell, who plays stay at home mom Kiki, took to Twitter to announce that a sequel to "Bad Moms" is officially happening.
"Get ready. It's about to get festive as a mother," Bell said.

The official plot details of the comedy's sequel has not yet been released. It's also unclear if minor players such as Jay Hernandez and Jada Pinkett Smith will be back. Fans will remember that Hernandez' character is the guy who became a love interest for Kunis' lead role.
"A Bad Moms Christmas" will hit theaters in November 3, 2017. It will be released months after the original film's spinoff, "Bad Dads." That project will arrive in theaters during summer on July 14, 2017.
