Brook Lopez is the nine-year veteran and the scoring leader for the Nets. However, his age may burden him to keep up the fast pace of the game for the next season. The Nets may think to trade him to rejuvenate the roster.
According to Nets Daily, the Nets have dilemma whether to trade him or not. It is because the 29-year old player is the undisputed leader for the Nets who can guide the team’s young players. However, the team need to rejuvenate their roster to play at the high pace.
This season, Lopez being himself continue to play great game in every game night, averaging 20.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. He also sharpens his three-point shooting skill and shooting 36.5 percent from behind the arc. His tenacity and work ethics to keep his play at the top level is unmatched in the Nets.
Brooklyn Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson respects high very much, as reported by Bleacher Report. He relies on Lopez to lift up the team’s moral and being a great leader for his team mate.
"I love the guy's leadership," Atkinson said highly of Lopez. "We could be down 15, and he just comes into every timeout with something positive to say, something to help the young guys. I just love his spirit. I love his attitude."
Lopez was selected by the Nets as 10th overall in the 2008 NBA Draft. Throughout his career he showcased his trait who was able to play very well on the both end of the floor. However, this season the Nets are in the slump with 8-26 records, the worst in the Eastern Conference.
The Nets neeed him to lift the team moral and be the leadership figure on the floor. But they also need a quick solution to bring more winning to the team. Trading Lopez may be one of the best option they have.
