Fans could not contain their excitement after it was reported that Park Bo Gum would be featuring as the main character in an upcoming movie. The actor has now responded to the reports surrounding his casting.

Reports claimed that Park had bagged the lead role in the upcoming film "Seo Bok." The actor's agency, Blossom Entertainment, has now issued a statement amid rumors of his casting in the film. "Park Bo Gum has just recently received the script for 'Seo Bok,' All Kpop quoted the agency as saying. "Nothing is confirmed about his appearance."

Although his role in the upcoming movie is not yet official, the agency confirmed that the actor did receive a script for the film. "Seobok" will be directed by Lee Yong Joo, the filmmaker who helmed the 2012 romance, "Architecture 101."

The film is a modern-day adaptation of the legend of Xu Fu, also known as Seobok, who set off to find the elixir of life for his master Qin Shi Huang. Huang was the founder and first emperor of China's Qin Dynasty. Park had been tapped to play the role of Seobok, a cloned human with healing powers.

Park gained popularity in 2016 after featuring on the hit shows "Reply 1988" and "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds," which is also known as "Love in the Moonlight," the KBS historical drama in which he played the role of Crown Prince Yi Yeong. His performance on the show also won him the Male Top Excellence Award at the 2016 KBS Drama Awards.

In a recent interview, the actor revealed that he wants to do more teen roles and would also like to include music into his work. He also added that he would prefer wearing a different costume in his future projects.

"If I get a chance, I would like to try as many characters as possible," the actor told Soompi in an interview. "I want to try teen romance, before I get too old. Since I wore many beautiful hanboks in "Moonlight Drawn By Clouds," how about I show the beauty of Korean school uniforms in my next project? And I want to try a music-inspired project, like the film "Begin Again" or "Sing Street."
