"Spider-Man: Homecoming" actor Tony Revolori is in final negotiations to star in the indie terrorism thriller "Exchanged." He takes the lead role for Meyers Media Group.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Revolori will play an autistic American high school senior who travels to Germany as part of a student exchange program, hence, the title "Exchanged." However, he learns that members of his host family are terrorists.
In the plot of "Exchanged," Revolori's character is unable to report his host family to the authorities because he fears for his family's safety. So, he ends up becoming an accomplice to their plan, Variety reported.
Geoff Haley is directing the Meyers Media Group feature "Exchanged" from his own screenplay that is co-written with David Chisholm. Making it a rare opportunity for him to take point at the helm, he worked as a camera operator on various films such as "Avengers: Infinity War," "Baywatch," "American Hustle," "Fast & Furious 7," and "Star Trek Beyond."
Revolori played lobby boy "Zero" in Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel," best known for his standout performance in YA sci-fi "The Fifth Wave," and starred in Rick Famuyiwa's comedy "Dope." He will play a high school nemesis Flash Thompson to Tom Holland's Peter Parker in Marvel-Sony's "Spider-Man: Homecoming," which is expected to be in theaters on July 7.
Revolori's other film credits include Jeffrey Blitz's wedding comedy "Table 19" opposite Anna Kendrick, Ben Lewin's writing film "Please Stand By," Chester Tam's comedy "Take the 10," and the friendship drama "When We Were Pirates." He is represented by UTA and Circle of Confusion.
Lawrence Steven Meyers and Randy Dannenberg will produce "Exchanged" for Meyers Media Group, who recently closed multiple territory deals at the American Film Market for the romance drama "Bitter Harvest" starring Max Irons and Samantha Barks. The executive producers are John Evangelides and Jonathan Tybel. MMG will also handle worldwide sales.
There are still no words yet on when "Exchanged" will be ushered into production.
