Willie Revillame will return to GMA-7 starting Feb. 1.
According to PEP.ph, the controversial host was given another chance by the network.
"Wowowin" is a variety game show that follow a similar format with all of Revillame's game shows in the past.
On Jan. 29, the agreement between Revillame and the network was finalized.
Meanwhile, "Wowowin" was supposed to air its final episode on Jan. 17, but during that time, the funnyman hinted that he will just say goodbye to his fans temporarily.
"Sa gabi-gabi ho bago ako matulog, and tanging dasal ko lamang, sanay's araw-araw na tayong magkakasama. Araw-araw ko na kayong makapiling, at araw-araw ko kayong mapasaya at mabigyan ng pag-asa yung mga akala nilang wala nang pag-asa sa buhay," he said at that time.
(Every night before I sleep, I pray to God that I will be given the opportunity to be with you every single day. That I will be able to give you happiness on a daily basis, as well as give you hope especially those who feel that there is no more hope in life).
GMA-7 Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Felipe L. Gozun said that he is confident Revillame's show will do well in terms of ratings and viewership.
"Itinaon talaga natin ito sa umpisa ng taon because we are lining up the programs for this year. Ngayon, daily na from Monday to Friday and I have no doubt na mami-maintain ni Willie ang ratings ng program. Napakasipag at pinapanood ko yung mga shows niya kaya alam ko," he said.
(We really decided to give Willie a show at the start of the year because we are lining up every other show for the network. Now, fans can already watch him from Monday to Friday, and I have no doubt that he will deliver. He's very hardworking and I watch his shows that's why I'm confident in him).
Revillame also expressed his excitement over the show, and said that the masses are the lead stars of the program.
"Sila ang nag-pe-perform at nag-kwento ng buhay nila. Ang hangarin ng programa ay magbigay pag-asa," he said.
(The people are the ones performing and sharing stories about their lives. The goal of the show is to give them hope).
