"Deadpool 2" will present a great deal of additional mutant characters. That is according to the movie's writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Does the arrival of many new faces suggest that the sequel will focus less on the ultimate anti-hero?

"Deadpool 2" co-writer Rhett Reese confirmed that it is still going to be a solo movie. In an interview with Deadline, Reese said it is true that the film will be populated with a lot of characters. However, he assured fans that it is still Deadpool's movie.

It was confirmed that "Deadpool 2" will feature Cable after the creators mentioned him in the post-credits of the original movie. A few names were already linked to the said role. The big names rumored to play Cable are Dolph Lundgren, Stephen Lang and Kyle Chandler.

Wernick said they always thought Cable should be in the sequel. They even considered putting him in the first movie but they decided to set up Deadpool and create his world first.

Aside from Cable, Domino is also reportedly included in the movie. Also a mutant, Domino was best known as a member of the X-Men offshoot X-Force. According to Cinema Blend, "The Martian" actress Mackenzie Davis is being eyed for this role.

Meanwhile, Reese added that they will shoot the film this year. The screenwriters are already in the process of creating multiple drafts right now.

He admitted they are a little nervous about doing "Deadpool 2" because they feel like they have to live up to the first movie. "Deadpool" made over $780 million at the box office and surprisingly bagged home some of the most prestigious awards in Hollywood. As Reese emphasized, it was generally a popcorn type movie that gets recognized among such serious great fare in Golden Globe and Writers Guild Award.

Ryan Reynolds will return to star in the movie. "John Wick" helmer David Leitch was tapped to direct the sequel after original director Tim Miller dropped out in October 2016. It is slated for release on March 2, 2018. Watch this short movie clip from 20th century Fox:
