The Japanese novel "Tsubakiyama Kacho no Nanokakan" by Jiro Asada is set to have its TV series adaptation in South Korea. Titled "Please Come Back, Mister," the upcoming TV series will star "Ninja Assassin" star Jung Ji-hoon, who is professionally known as Rain.
In 2002, Rain made his debut as a TV series actor in the SBS series "The King of Disco." He went on to star in several TV series including the KBS series "A Love to Kill," "Sang Doo! Let's Go to School" and "Full House" opposite Lee Young-jae.
In 2014, Rain starred in the SBS series "My Lovely Girl," his first TV drama series after his military discharge in South Korea. In 2015, he played Xiao Liang in the Chinese TV series "Diamond Lover" on JZTV.
Directed by Shin Yoon-sub and written by No Hye-young, "Please Come Back, Mister" is about a man who was given a limited amount of time to return to the living world in the attractive body of another man after working to death. Rain's character in the upcoming TV series is named Lee Hae-joon.
On Dec. 10, 2015, a spokesperson from the agency of Lee Min-jung confirmed that the actress was offered a lead role in "Please Come Back, Mister," which would be her first drama since maternity leave. In a statement obtained by ET News, the spokesperson said the actress had received the script and was reviewing it.
Min-jung will play Shin Da-hye in the upcoming SBS series. The character is a married woman, who is attractive and talented.
Joining Rain and Min-jung in the main cast of "Please Come Back, Mister" are Kim Soo-ro as Han Gi-tak, Kim In-kwon as Kim Young-soo, Lee Ha-nui as Song I-yeon, Oh Yeon-seo as Hong-nan and Choi Won-young as Cha Jae-guk. The supporting characters are played by Lee Re, Lee Tae-hwan, Lee Moon-sik, Oh Dae-hwan, Oh Na-ra, Park Chul-min, Yoon Park, Ryu Hwa-young, Ra Mi-ran, Go In-bum and Ahn Suk-hwan.
In 2009, Rain starred in the Hollywood film "Ninja Assassin," which was directed by James McTeigue. Among his co-stars were Rick Yune and Naomie Harris, who was spotted in a white dress at the 20th anniversary event of Cirque Du Soleil in London on Jan. 18, Daily Mail reported.
"Please Come Back, Mister" will premiere on Feb. 24 on SBS. Watch the trailer here:
