"The Vampire Diaries" season 7, episode 12 will finally see Leslie-Ann Huff's character Rayna.
According to the show's spoiler site, "Postcards From The Edge" will see Bonnie (Kat Graham), Nora (Scarlett Byrne) and Mary Louise (Teressa Laine) tracking down a vampire huntress who may cause harm to all the vampires and witches in Mystic Falls.
As it turns out, this vampire huntress is no other than Rayna (Huff).
Meanwhile, there were previous rumors that Huff was cast to star in "The Vampire Diaries" to replace Nina Dobrev.
Dobrev was part of the hit The CW show for six seasons where she played the role of Elena Gilbert.
However, executive producer Caroline Dries denied such allegations. According to her, Huff wasn't cast because she resembled Dobrev. Rather, she was cast because she impressed everyone during her audition.
"That's definitely just a coincidence. We looked at a lot of actors, and I was like, 'I think she looks exactly like Nina. I was convinced otherwise. I actually haven't met her in person yet, though, and everyone says she doesn't look like her in person," Dries said.
According to TV Line, Huff will play the role of a vampire huntress who will cause a lot of problems especially to Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola-King).
In other news, Huff spoke with ABS-CBN a few months back to dish on what it was like auditioning for a role on "The Vampire Diaries."
According to her, "Just be good at what you do and you are who you are. Maybe you are a person of color, maybe you are a woman; but your work is gonna speak for yourself and that's always my attitude going through projects."
Meanwhile, there are also some rumors that Rayna will be revealed to be Elena's doppelganger in the upcoming episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7.
After all, doppelgangers are common on the show and Elena previously had one named Katherine.
However, there are also some speculations that the two characters will have no connection with each other whatsoever.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 airs Fridays on The CW.
