‘Quantico’ star Priyanka Chopra to be a presenter at the 2016 Oscars: Actress expresses her excitement

With her Hollywood debut in ABC's "Quantico," Priyanka Chopra has become a household name in the west. The Bollywood actress' has been recognised at various Hollywood events. After presenting an award at 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards and winning a People's Choice Awards, Indian actress Priyanka Chopra will yet again be among the top notch Hollywood actors in 88th Academy Awards, commonly known as 2016 Oscars. Chopra will not only be attending the highly-anticipated award ceremony in Hollywood, but she will also be presenting an award.

On Feb. 2, the big news led Twitter to explode. The official account of the most prestigious awards unveiled the second slate of presenters at the 2016 Oscars. Chopra will be joining several international stars on the gala night, including Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Jared Leto, Olivia Munn, Kerry Washington, Reese Witherspoon, Jason Segel, Andy Serkis, Qunicy Jones and more.

The "Bajirao Masatni" actress retweeted the post. It was followed by her tweet that said: Looking forward @TheAcademy !! This will be an insaaaane night!"

Speaking about the big news, Chopra expressed her excitement in a telephonic interview with Hindustan Times. "I am definitely excited. There are such few presenters and to be able to share the same stage with them within six months of my being here, feels amazing. It's great to be counted among my peers," Chopra said. "The Academy Awards is the highest honour in America so I am excited to be a part of it," the actress added.

Chopra, who recently won the People's Choice award for Favourite Actress in a New TV Series, is currently filming the second half of her Hollywood television show "Quantico." She portrays the leading role of Alex Parrish, who is suspected to be involved in terrorist bombings in America.

Back home, Chopra was recently named as one of the 112 winners of Padma awards. She has received Padma Shree Award, one of the highest civilian awards, by the government of India.

"When I first started out in India, people slowly started liking my work. Similarly, I am glad that my work in Quantico is being appreciated and recognised," Chopra said.
