Rick Cosnett shared several photos from the set of "The Flash" Season 3 recently. The behind-the-scenes images hint that Eddie Thawne returns in flashback scenes.
Cosnett reprises his role from Season 1 as CCPD cop Eddie Thawne in "The Flash" Season 3. The actor announced his return to filming through a couple of behind-the-scenes photos he shared on Twitter. One of the shots shows him catching up with Grant Gustin (Barry Allen), Jesse Martin (Joe West) and Candice Patton (Iris West). Patton also shared the same photo on her Instagram.
The snap shows Cosnett with his "The Flash" Season 3 co-stars at Jitters. Fans of the series may be familiar with the location. This is where Iris used to work before she became a journalist. It is interesting to note that the Jitters has hardly been used in the show for the past two seasons.
However, seeing the casts return to the set could hint at Eddie Thawne’s appearance in “The Flash” Season 3. Does this mean that Eddie appears in flashback scenes? According to Comicbook, his presence might involve another time-travel mission for Team Flash.
The last time Eddie returned was when Barry traveled to the past in "The Flash" Season 2. Cosnett reprised his role midway in the season, according to TV Line. Barry coaxed him into recording a goodbye video for Iris.
Meanwhile, another telling sign that Eddie returns not as an effect of Flashpoint is from Barry's costume. The Flash logo on his chest is apparently missing. Instead, only the red background, which is reminiscent of Barry's costume in Season 1, is present.
There have been speculations that Eddie is alive in "The Flash" Season 3 after Barry created Flashpoint. Several events in the past have changed since and fans assumed, that it is only a matter of time before Eddie comes back from the dead too. However, the behind-the-scenes photos suggest Eddie remains dead in the present.
