The CW has released photos from "The Flash" Season 3 episode 12, which teases Iris' tragic fate. Barry Allen's girlfriend is dying and Caitlin decides to bring back Killer Frost to help her friend.
Synopsis for "The Flash" Season 3 episode 12 from Comicbook revealed the arrival of a new metahuman in Central City. This metahuman has the ability to kill its victims by causing them to decompose at an accelerated rate.
In this episode titled "Untouchable," the criminal metahuman, named Clive Yorkin (Matthew Kevin Anderson), targets Joe West (Jesse Martin). However, his daughter Iris is caught in the crossfire instead. The trailer below for "The Flash" Season 3 episode 12 shows Yorkin touch Iris' arm. Kid Flash arrives but not soon enough to prevent the decomposition process from slowly working its way to Iris' body.
Meanwhile, several of the promotional photos from "The Flash" Season 3 episode 12 show Iris at the S.T.A.R. Labs clinic. She is unconscious. Barry (Grant Gustin) and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) are at her side and both look desperate to save Iris.
Barry looks worried as he watches over his girlfriend. Iris is on the brink of death. She could end up as one of Yorkin's victims, if the team does not find a way to help her fast. One photo from TV Fanatic gives a glimpse at the horrifying skeletal remains of the metahuman's victim.
However, Iris may just survive after all. Caitlin appears to have turned on her Killer Frost powers to help her friend. One photo shows her press down on Iris' arm with both hands. Perhaps she is attempting to slow down the decomposition using extreme cold.
Elsewhere in "The Flash" Season 2 episode 12, Barry helps Kid Flash elevate his speed to another level. Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) needs to be very fast if he wants to succeed in saving his sister Iris from Savitar.
