"Shadowhunters" Season 2 is now on air, and things are already heating up for Clary, Jace and the rest of the Shadow World as Valentine prepares to wage war. The characters are also facing their own personal dilemmas, each of which affect events as the show moves forward. Here are four burning questions about "Shadowhunters" Season 2 answered.
How will Jocelyn's death affect Clary?
Clary was already handling so much on her plate when she was dealt with a heavy blow when her mother was murdered. Clary will be going through some difficult times and will be "forced to start anew," but such is expected to toughen up the character.
"As heartbreaking as it is, I think it's great that the writers and the showrunners are pushing Clary with this kind of difficulty because it forces her to take on this maturity that she otherwise wouldn't have had if her mother were still alive," actress Katherine McNamara tells Blastr.
Will Simon and Clary be together?
Simon and Clary have always had a brother-sister type of relationship despite the fact that Simon had romantic feelings for his best friend. He has, for countless of times, tried to tell Clary how he truly feels. McNamara reveals that the pair will only grow closer this season as they learn more about the Shadow Wolrd together. When asked if Simon will finally muster up the courage to confess to Clary in "Shadowhunters" Season 2, McNamara simply tells Screener TV, "We'll see."
Who's Sebastian?
There's a new Shadowhunter in town, and his name is Sebastian. Will Tudor has been confirmed to portray the character, who is described as a "charming, brilliant and highly educated Shadowhunter and has unrivaled fighting abilities."
Sebastian's arrival at the New York Institute is expected to help Clary and Jace shake out out of their awkward brother-sister phase, since Sebastian is actually Clary's brother. Sebastian might also cause some tension with Jace, as both of them were raised by Valentine as part of his experiment.
What about Malec?
Magnus and Alec's relationship will slow down a bit this season. Everything moved so fast for the couple in the first season, so they will tone down the romance a notch. Nevertheless, the show will still continue to explore their relationship in "Shadowhunters" Season 2.
