The first season of SM Station launched in 2016, with SM Entertainment releasing solo tracks from its artist every week. EXO member Suho was the last soloist to release a song, and he revealed that SM Entertainment put him under such pressure to stage a wonderful finale.
Suho's "Curtain" dropped last week, concluding the first season of SM Station. On the Feb. 13 broadcast of "Blue Night," Suho revealed that even though it has been five years since he debuted with EXO, it was his first time to release a solo track.
"It felt special to be the finale. My label gave me a lot of pressure, though. They told me, 'It has to be good, so take responsibility and do it seriously. We're looking forward to it,'" Suho said about SM Entertainment having high expectations for his release, allkpop reported.
He added that recording for the song took about 2-3 hours and took multiple takes during editing. He revealed that the song's composer was very meticulous with details and he ended up recording the first part of the "Curtain" several times.
SM Station Season 1 was a 52-week long project that debuted collaborations from a unique mix of artists, musicians, composers and producers. It became a rare platform for collaborations between different agencies, while showcasing the talent of idols through duets and new tracks. Among the artists that participated in SM Station were TRAX, Taeyeon, Yesung, Seulgi and Suho. Some of the non-SM Entertainment artists that joined the project were Beenzino, K.Will, Eric Nam and MAMAMOO.
SM Entertainment's SM station has been picked up for a second season, and will release new music from more artists soon. According to Soompi, the label is also planning to do collaborations with international artists. More details on the second season will be revealed soon.
