The youngest member of BTS appealed to his fans to stop calling him "oppa." Instead, Jungkook revealed he would rather be called "baby," especially by those who are older to him.

According to Koreaboo, the 19-year-old idol has been vocal about his opposition to be called "oppa" by his older fans. In fact, Jungkook would often contests when he hears the word at fan meeting events.

For an instance, the BTS member was recently captured insisting his dislike to be addressed as "oppa" with fans. "Jungkook oppa," fans yelled in chorus, claiming that they consider him as their older brother despite the age gap.

Jungkook then countered and told his fans, "I'm not your oppa. You keep calling me oppa! From now on, ARMYs must bring ID cards here, and I'll check the age."

The BTS member was even caught laughing in disbelief everytime he was being called "oppa" by his fans. Hence, most of them continued to tease Jungkook to see his funny reactions.

Apparently, a previous fan note revealed the young idol would like ARMYs to call him "baby." Meanwhile, Jungkook's fans joked about the idol's statement and said they will bring the necessary documents at fan meeting events to prove that they can call him "oppa."

"I'm going to go to a fan [meeting event] one day, grab out my passport, birth certificate, and license. Clear my throat and slowly say O. P. P. A," a fan teased Jungkook.

The youngest BTS member just completed his high school last month. His co-members were even present to support Jungkook on his special day. On the other hand, the idol caught the attention of Charlie Puth for his version of "We Don't Talk Anymore" as per Soompi.

In January, the American singer followed BTS after Jungkook uploaded a teaser of the song cover. On Feb. 27, the highly anticipated full version of his rendition of "We Don't Talk Anymore" was posted on Twitter, drawing the attention of Charlie Puth, who retweeted the post and said, "Love this [Jungkook]!"
