Following his acting debut with "Dream High 2," Jinyoung is now ready to play his first lead role with "A Stray Goat." In fact, the independent movie marked his debut on the big screen.
In a recent interview, the GOT7 member admitted he had no knowledge on acting when he was casted in "Dream High 2." Jinyoung even said he never expected to appear in drama considering his lacking.
"It was quite shocking. That's when I first began to think [that] acting is an enthralling career," the singer-actor said as per Soompi.
While GOT7 was on a hiatus, the idol has thought of pursuing his acting career; hence, Jinyoung made an effort to learn and develop his skills. The 22-year-old young star said he began his practice by watching movies alone, studying, and attending acting lessons.
When asked about his character in "A Stray Goat," Jinyoung stated Min Sik reminds him of his trainee days with JYP Entertainment. "Basically, I had to engage in a social life from when I was a trainee," he said.
He shared that he used to be awkward around people he did not know when was still starting out. And just like his role in the film, Jinyoung had experienced changing schools from Jinhae (district in Changwon City) to Seoul.
Despite his hectic schedule, the singer-actor felt honored to promote with GOT7 and pursue his dream to become an actor. Jinyoung added that he wants to maximize what he has right now.
"I want to do as much as I can when I am given the opportunity. Later, I might not get the chance to do things even if I want to do them," he said.
For "A Stray Goat," the GOT7 member shared the big screen with Ji Woo, who is known for her roles in "Pure Love" and "Inspiring Generation." According to Allkpop, the 20-year-old actress described Jinyoung as the "vitamin" at the set.
"I learned and reflected a lot from watching oppa focus in the production," Ji Woo said.
