Lee Min Ho continues to charm us with his generosity and sincerity. Recently, the Hallyu actor donated a huge amount of money to UNICEF for the observation of World Water Day on Mar. 22.
According to Soompi, Lee Min Ho has shell out 25 million won (approximately 22,000 USD) through PROMIZ for the upcoming event. Reports stated the actor did the same thing last year and promised to continue his support.
"[We] were able to offer clean water to many children through UNICEF. We will continue to be interested in those who need help all over the world," he said last year.
Lee Min Ho continued, "I will work hard so that the world can become a warmer place," he said last year."
The "Legend of the Blue Sea" actor and his donation platform provided a total of 138 emergency kits for UNICEF this year, which include 69 million water purifiers that will allow 92,000 children across the world to have an access to clean drinking water.
Aside from purifiers, the emergency kits contain relief goods and basic necessities needed during calamities and war. These packs also have malnutrition supplements and dehydration medicines.
The 29-year-old actor started his cause with UNICEF after participating in their "Love Net" campaign where Lee Min Ho promoted to fight malaria. Since then, the Hallyu actor has become a regular donor of the international organization.
In 2015, he donated 100 million won (approximately 87,000 USD) under his fandom name to help those who were affected of the earthquake in Nepal.
Just recently, Lee Min Ho extended his helping hand to abused children. Allkpop cited the Korean actor donated 50 million won (approximately 44,000 USD) as an aid to those who has experienced domestic abuse.
The monetary donation was made possible by fans who showed their support to "Making a Warm Winter for Both Body and Heart" campaign that was initiated by PROMIZ and Good Neighbors.
