Lee Sung Kyung has become one of the most in demand Korean artists following her titular role in come-of-age drama "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo."
Now, it seems like the model-turned-actress is ready to take the big screen after receiving an offer to take part in an upcoming film titled "Lovesling."
According to Soompi, an insider was the first to reveal about Lee Sung Kyung's potential feature film debut which was later supported by her label. "It is true that she received the offer, but we are still in talks," an affiliate of YG Entertainment said.
Aside from this confirmation, the agency refused to spill more details on their artist's possible movie project. For the upcoming film, veteran actor Yoo Hae Jin has been offered to play as the father who will meet his son through wrestling.
Lee Sung Kyung was supposed to make her film debut with "Broker" last year. However, the production of the movie was reportedly put on hold after completing the casting calls.
"I'm not sure about "Broker." We haven't heard anything," Lee Sung Kyung's agency said.
Drama Beans cited the 26-year-old actress was supposed to play the female lead for the legal thriller. She was casted along with actors Kim Young Kwang and Lim Ju Hwan, who are best known for their supporting roles in "Pinocchio" and "Uncontrollably Fond," respectively.
Although things did not go well with "Broker," a lot of opportunities opened for Lee Sung Kyung last year. Apart from her debut lead with MBC's "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo," she also landed two supporting roles for "Cheese in the Trap" and "Doctors" all in 2016.
But before she became an actress, Lee Sung Kyung originally debuted as a model under K-Plus and YG Entertainment's partnership project, YGKplus. Her career made a detour when director Kim Kyu Tae offered her to play as Lee Kwang Soo's girlfriend in "It's Okay, That's Love."
The 2014 drama was followed by another acting project with "Queen's Flower" which won Lee Sung Kyung the Best New Actress trophy at the 34th MBC Drama Awards.
